However, I persevered and eventually built a connection with one of the families. We spent the day cleaning their apartment, shopping for groceries, and preparing a traditional meal. It was a humbling experience to see how grateful they were for our small acts of kindness.
That evening, we gathered at the community center to share our experiences. Each group gave a short presentation on what they had accomplished. Although we were all tired, there was a palpable sense of accomplishment in the room. I looked around and saw smiles on everyone's faces, including mine.
Looking back on that special experience, I realize how much it taught me about myself and the world around me.
